You should be always careful when you decide to use a cab since some taxi drivers can charge you an exaggerated price seeing that you are a foreigner. The price per kilometer must be indicated on both sides of taxi and also within the car on the front panel, otherwise, it is recommended to negotiate the price before entering the car. When you sit in, check whether the driver sets the counter correctly. Always ask for a receipt. The price per kilometer may vary from car to car; at present, the average is 30 Kc. Final sum includes also an introductory fee (for entering the car) in the range of 30 to 50 Kc. Different prices can be expected for the transportation from/to the Airport (Airport Cars - Fix Co.: 120-770 Kc depending on price zone). The distance between the Airport and the Institute is about 15 km, between the Main Railway Station and the Institute about 10 km. From or to the Airport, there is also a shuttle service CEDAZ operating at 30 minutes interval or on customer's wish. It uses vans for a maximum of eight passengers on the fixed route Airport - Dejvicka - Namesti Republiky (Square of the Republic) where is a downtown CSA (Czech Airlines) terminal. The one way fare is 90 Kc/person (spring 2002). Fare from airport to (one) place in the center according to wish: a group of 1-4 people: 360 Kc; a group of 5-8 people: 720 Kc.
