ACTRIS-CZ is a unique research infrastructure dedicated to research and long-term monitoring of chemical and physical processes in the atmosphere included in the Czech Road Map of large infrastructures for research, experimental development, and innovation for the years 2016 to 2022.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The ACTRIS-CZ RI project aims to improve the technical background of this infrastructure located at the Ko\u0161etice-K\u0159e\u0161\u00edn Associated Station at Pacov (now the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.actris-ri.cz\/en\/\">Ko\u0161etice National Atmospheric Observatory<\/a>), to strengthen its staff capacity and involvement in international networks, and subsequently to develop strategic research so as to create a competitive quality capable of delivering fully the objectives of the European ACTRIS infrastructure, which has been newly included in the Road Map of the European Strategic Forum for Research Infrastructures (ESFRI)in 2016.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The principal investigator of the ACTRIS-CZ RI project is the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.icpf.cas.cz\/en\">Institute of Chemical Process Fundamentals of the CAS<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The project partners are the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.czechglobe.cz\/en\/\">Global Change Research Institute of the CAS<\/a> and the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.recetox.muni.cz\/en\">Research Centre for Toxic Compounds in the Environment (RECETOX) of Masaryk University<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The project is provided with financial support from European Union. The Ministry of Education, Youth, and Sports as the Managing Authority of the Operational Program Research, Development and Education decided to provide a grant for the implementation of the ACTRIS-CZ RI project in the amount of CZK 58,442,717.70.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li value=\"2\"><strong>Project ICPF Mobility (2017-2020)<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<div id=\"tw-target-text-container\" class=\"tw-ta-container hide-focus-ring tw-nfl\">\n<p id=\"tw-target-text\" class=\"tw-data-text tw-text-large XcVN5d tw-ta\" dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: justify;\" data-placeholder=\"P\u0159eklad\"><span lang=\"en\">The low international mobility of researchers is one of the key problems of science and research in the Czech Republic. Securing external financing from the OP RDE funds will enable the completion of internships for prospective employees at renowned workplaces abroad. Completing an internship abroad is a key phase of a researcher&#8217;s career development, which determines his \/ her further professional orientation and focus, and the acquisition of new competencies, which leads to the substantial professional development of the employee.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p id=\"tw-target-text\" class=\"tw-data-text tw-text-large XcVN5d tw-ta\" dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: justify;\" data-placeholder=\"P\u0159eklad\">Project <a href=\"https:\/\/www.icpf.cas.cz\/en\/project\/mobility-2\/\">ICPF Mobility<\/a><span lang=\"en\"> is focused on strengthening the international mobility of junior researchers from the Institute of Chemical Processes of the ASCR. 7 field trips to renowned workplaces in Germany, Austria, Italy, and France are planned, which will be attended by 4 postdoctoral students and 3 PhD students. An internship of a foreign postdoctoral student at \u00daCHP is also planned, lasting 12 months with a focus on environmental processes. The project will be implemented in the period 2017 to 2020.<\/span><\/p>\n<p id=\"tw-target-text\" class=\"tw-data-text tw-text-large XcVN5d tw-ta\" dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: justify;\" data-placeholder=\"P\u0159eklad\"><span lang=\"en\">The main and only solver of the ICPF Mobility project is the<a href=\"https:\/\/www.icpf.cas.cz\/en\/\"> Institute of Chemical Process Fundamentals of the CAS <\/a><\/span>.<\/p>\n<p id=\"tw-target-text\" class=\"tw-data-text tw-text-large XcVN5d tw-ta\" dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: justify;\" data-placeholder=\"P\u0159eklad\"><span lang=\"en\">The project is provided with financial support from European Union funds. The Ministry of Education, Youth, and Sports, as the Managing Authority of the Operational Program Research, Development, and Education, decided to provide a subsidy for the implementation of the ICPF Mobility project in the amount of CZK 9,987,342.00.<\/span><\/p>\n<p id=\"tw-target-text\" class=\"tw-data-text tw-text-large XcVN5d tw-ta\" dir=\"ltr\" data-placeholder=\"P\u0159eklad\"><strong><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;\"><span lang=\"en\">List of events<\/span>:<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p id=\"tw-target-text\" class=\"tw-data-text tw-text-large XcVN5d tw-ta\" dir=\"ltr\" data-placeholder=\"P\u0159eklad\"><span lang=\"en\">Seminar on Tuesday, May 15, 2019 from 9:00 am in the large meeting room of ICPF of the CAS<\/span>.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li value=\"3\"><strong>Project Strategic Partnership for environmental technologies and energy production (2018-2022)<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p id=\"tw-target-text\" class=\"tw-data-text tw-text-large XcVN5d tw-ta\" dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: justify;\" data-placeholder=\"P\u0159eklad\"><span lang=\"en\">The Strategic Partnership for Environmental Technologies and Energy Production project is focused on deepening the cooperation of the Institute of Process Engineering FME BUT in Brno, the Institute of Chemical Processes of the CAS, and the Institute of Global Change Research of the CAS with UNIS and EVECO Brno in the following research areas<\/span>:<\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li>\n<p id=\"tw-target-text\" class=\"tw-data-text tw-text-large XcVN5d tw-ta\" dir=\"ltr\" data-placeholder=\"P\u0159eklad\"><span lang=\"en\">Research of the circular economy in order to evaluate the real future needs of modern equipment for energy recovery of waste (ZEVO) and to evaluate the impact of future changes on conceptual solutions.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div id=\"tw-target-text-container\" class=\"tw-ta-container hide-focus-ring tw-nfl\">\n<p id=\"tw-target-text\" class=\"tw-data-text tw-text-large XcVN5d tw-ta\" dir=\"ltr\" data-placeholder=\"P\u0159eklad\"><span lang=\"en\">Research on key technologies, systems, and modern management that are part of ZEVO, including process and industrial biotechnologies, using secondary outputs of ZEVO operation, such as thermal energy or CO<sub>2<\/sub><\/span>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p id=\"tw-target-text\" class=\"tw-data-text tw-text-large XcVN5d tw-ta\" dir=\"ltr\" data-placeholder=\"P\u0159eklad\"><span lang=\"en\">Research into the integration of individual elements and devices into modern ZEVO and research into unique integrated multifunctional units in order to achieve high efficiency of processes and relevant energy systems, the service life of technological units, and reduction of environmental impacts.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p id=\"tw-target-text\" class=\"tw-data-text tw-text-large XcVN5d tw-ta\" dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: justify;\" data-placeholder=\"P\u0159eklad\"><span lang=\"en\">The project will use the advanced research infrastructure of the participating research organizations, which allows a multidisciplinary approach to solving the problem (chemical processes, energy, mechanical engineering, biotechnology). For the purposes of long-term cross-sectoral cooperation, the consortium of partners will also establish cooperation with other cooperating entities from the application and academic spheres at the national and international levels. An integral part is the effective dissemination of research results through standard forms of conferences and scientific colloquia, but also through one-off events. To increase the internationalization of research, cooperation will also be established with foreign entities, and the preparation of at least three follow-up international grants is expected.<\/span><\/p>\n<div id=\"tw-target-text-container\" class=\"tw-ta-container hide-focus-ring tw-nfl\">\n<p id=\"tw-target-text\" class=\"tw-data-text tw-text-large XcVN5d tw-ta\" dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: justify;\" data-placeholder=\"P\u0159eklad\"><span lang=\"en\">The project is provided with financial support for the period 07\/2018 to 06\/2022 from the funds of the European Union, the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports of the Operational Program Research, Development, and Education. The total project budget for all partners is CZK 100 million.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li value=\"4\"><strong>Project ICPF Mobility II (2020-2023)<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The <a href=\"http:\/\/www.icpf.cas.cz\/en\/project\/mobility-2\/\">ICPF Mobility II<\/a> project is focused on strengthening the international mobility of junior researchers from the Institute of Chemical Process Fundamentals of the CAS. Nine internships at renowned workplaces in Denmark, Switzerland, France, Germany, New Zealand, Belgium, Portugal, Greece, and Austria are planned, which will be attended by 6 postdoctoral researchers and 3 Ph.D. students. The Ministry of Education, Youth, and Sports, as the Managing Authority of the Operational Program Research, Development, and Education, decided to provide a grant for the implementation of the ICPF Mobility II project in the amount of CZK 7,094,936.29, while the total project budget is CZK 7,468,354.00.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li value=\"5\"><strong>Project ACTRIS-CZ RI 2 (2020-2023)<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The <a href=\"https:\/\/actris.cz\/web\/programs-and-projects\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">ACTRIS-CZ RI 2<\/a> project follows the ACTRIS-CZ RI project. The project supports the modernization and further expansion of the instrumentation of the large research infrastructure ACTRIS-CZ, which is a part of the Roadmap of large research infrastructures in the Czech Republic and is located at the <a href=\"https:\/\/actris.cz\/web\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">National Atmospheric Observatory Ko\u0161etice<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The main goal of the ACTRIS-CZ RI 2 project is to modernize and expand the instrumentation of the ACTRIS-CZ infrastructure, to increase and expand the portfolio of services provided by the infrastructure while maintaining their high quality. This will both increase the number of users of the research infrastructure, and the level of scientific information provided by the infrastructure. The project strengthens the position of the Czech Republic within the European research infrastructure ACTRIS ERIC and within the wider international community focusing on air quality, especially in relation to global climate change and impacts on public health.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The main recipient of the ACTRIS-CZ RI 2 project is the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.icpf.cas.cz\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Institute of Chemical Process Fundamentals of the CAS<\/a>, and the project partners are the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.czechglobe.cz\/en\/\">Institute of Global Change Research Institute of the CAS<\/a> and the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.recetox.muni.cz\/en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Research Centre for Toxic Compounds in the Environment (RECETOX) of Masaryk University<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The project is provided with financial support from the European Union. The Ministry of Education, Youth, and Sports, as the Managing Authority of the Operational Program Research, Development, and Education, decided to provide a grant for the implementation of the ACTRIS-CZ RI 2 project in the amount of CZK 36,303,300.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>Operational Programme Jan Amos Komensk\u00fd<\/h2>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><strong>Center of Excellence in Regenerative Medicine <\/strong>&#8211; Project <a class=\"AboveTabs_nav__NGxEF\" href=\"https:\/\/starfos.tacr.cz\/en\/projekty\/EH22_008%2F0004562\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">EH22_008\/0004562<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">A research project entitled \u201cExcellence Research in Regenerative Medicine (ExRegMed)\u201d has succeeded in the call \u201d Excellence in Research\u201d and has received support from the <a href=\"https:\/\/opjak.cz\/aktuality\/prehled-patnacti-zadosti-doporucenych-k-financovani-z-vyzvy-spickovy-vyzkum\/\">Johannes Amos Comenius Programme \u2013 OPJAK (available only in Czech)<\/a>. The project aims to create a Consortium, which will be involved in research in the therapeutic methods of regenerative medicine and tissue engineering. The project is expected to increase the competitiveness of the Czech Republic in this field of science, primarily through new applicable research and development results. The project activities focus on regenerating damaged tissues that cannot yet be treated or whose regenerative capacity is very limited.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The principal investigator of the project is the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.iem.cas.cz\/en\/home-en\/\">Institute of Experimental Medicine of the CAS<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.icpf.cas.cz\/en\/\">Institute of Chemical Process Fundamentals of the CAS<\/a> is one of the partners of the project.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The project is provided with financial support from the European Union. The Ministry of Education, Youth, and Sports, as the Managing Authority of the Operational Program Johannes Amos Comenius, decided to provide a grant for the implementation of the ACTRIS-CZ RI 3 project in the amount of CZK 53 424 354,00.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.icpf.cas.cz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/EUMSMT-Barevne-AJ-scaled.png\" width=\"507\" height=\"72\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>3. <strong>Lifecycle of New Energy Sources (LiNES) (2024-2029) <\/strong>&#8211; Project <a class=\"AboveTabs_nav__NGxEF\" href=\"https:\/\/starfos.tacr.cz\/projekty\/EH23_020%2F0008508\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">EH23_020\/0008508<\/a>, Cross-sectoral Cooperation<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span class=\"HwtZe\" lang=\"en\"><span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">The project investigates new energy sources (NES) at several levels, from developing innovative technologies for energy storage and preventing risks associated with NSE operation to managing NSE as a source of secondary raw materials.<\/span><\/span> <span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">With the expansion of new energy sources in the EU, a scientific problem arises in assessing safety, especially in the medium and long term.<\/span><\/span> <span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">The project assesses the risks of NSE to human health and safety, optimizes using these sources, and examines the economic and environmental impacts.<\/span><\/span> <span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\">It focuses on research into new materials, battery diagnostics, and incident prevention, innovative environmentally friendly processing of NSE, and an overall assessment of the environmental impacts of NSE.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p>The main recipient of the LiNES project is the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.icpf.cas.cz\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Institute of Chemical Process Fundamentals of the CAS<\/a>, and the project partners are the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fme.vutbr.cz\/en\/fakulta\/struktura\/pracoviste\/upi\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Institute of Process Engineering (BUT, FMI)<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fme.vutbr.cz\/en\/fakulta\/struktura\/pracoviste\/upi\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Department of Sustainability and Product Ecology (UCT in Praque, FET)<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.orgrez.cz\/en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">ORGREZ, a.s.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The project is provided with financial support from the European Union. The Ministry of Education, Youth, and Sports, as the Managing Authority of the Operational Program Johannes Amos Comenius, decided to provide a grant for the implementation of the LiNES project in the amount of CZK 96 447 000,00.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.icpf.cas.cz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/EUMSMT-Barevne-AJ-scaled.png\" width=\"507\" height=\"72\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>4. <strong>HR AWARD ICPF (2025-2029) <\/strong>&#8211; Project CZ.02.01.01\/00\/23_026\/0011381, Research Environment<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The aim of the project is to develop the capacities, knowledge, and skills of employees in the field of strategic management of research and development, in order to enhance their professional capacity and create internationally competitive conditions for conducting excellent R&amp;D. Specifically, this involves improving the strategic framework of the research organization and training employees related to obtaining and maintaining the European &#8220;HR Award&#8221; (KA2), in the areas of human resources development and gender equality (KA3), research organization management (KA4), research organization evaluation (KA5), international cooperation and internationalization (KA6), cross-sectoral cooperation and technology transfer (KA7), open science (KA8), institutional resilience to illegitimate influence (KA9), and the popularization of R&amp;D (KA10).<\/p>\n<p>The main recipient of the HR AWARD ICPF project is the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.icpf.cas.cz\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Institute of Chemical Process Fundamentals of the CAS<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The project is provided with financial support from the European Union. These parameters are not part of standard monitoring methods and at the same time have a major impact on human health, precipitation dynamics, visibility, and global climate change. At the same time, a national calibration laboratory will be built for the calibration of instruments measuring the physical properties of aerosol particles.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"tw-target-text-container\" class=\"tw-ta-container hide-focus-ring tw-nfl\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<p id=\"tw-target-text\" class=\"tw-data-text tw-text-large XcVN5d tw-ta\" dir=\"ltr\" data-placeholder=\"P\u0159eklad\"><span lang=\"en\">The main outputs of the project are the modernization and expansion of the monitoring program of the Ko\u0161etice and Suchdol stations as part of the national research infrastructure ACTRIS-CZ. Verification will be carried out by the implementation of proven technology for spray nebulization drying (CASND technology &#8211; carbon dioxide assisted spray nebulization drying), implementation of a series of technical functional verification (shift from TRL3 to TRL7), and further elaboration of underlying technical-economic documents. Experimental testing of the rotary atomization disk has shown its principal functionality, but also a number of drawbacks &#8211; these can be eliminated by replacing it with other nebulization systems that operate on a completely different principle.
