Separation of gas mixtures by membrane processes

The aim of the PhD thesis is purification flue and other industrial gases effectively using membranes to remove acid pollutants, such as CO2, SO2, and water vapour. Removing all these compounds from the air in one operation step by membrane technology is a unique and beneficial task.  PhD work will focus on the development of new membranes and separation techniques for the selective separation of pollutants from air with practical applications, particularly in the environment protection. The PhD candidate will be required to work out a detailed search of foreign literature on the subject (need for active English knowledge), independent measurement and results processing, and in cooperation with the supervisor and to write publications in foreign periodicals.

Required education and skills

  • Master degree in chemical engineering, physical chemistry, organic technology, chemical physics;
  • willingness to do experimental work and learn new things;
  • team work ability.
