A large number of us start our day by checking the weather forecast. Whether it’s going to rain or shine is an indication that we would find on most smartphones’ homepages. The air temperature is one of those weather parameters that affects our day quite fundamentally. Over the last few years, we have increasingly begun to experience weather events that are atypical for our region, such as extreme heat waves. The more frequent occurrence of these episodes in central Europe also contributes to the change in the composition of atmospheric aerosols. The influence of weather conditions on the composition of organic aerosols will be the main topic of this lecture.
