Accessibility Statement
Website accessibility
The Institute of Chemical Process Fundamentals of the CAS, v. v. i. (hereinafter referred to as “ICPF”) is committed to making its website accessible in accordance with Act No. 99/2019 Coll., on the Accessibility of Websites and Mobile Applications and Amending Act No. 365/2000 Sb., on Information Systems of Public Administration and Amending Certain Other Acts, as amended, which implements Directive (EU) 2016/2102 of the European Parliament and of the Council.
This Accessibility Statement applies to the domain and web presentation:
https://www.icpf.cas.cz (including all its subpages).
Compliance Status
This website is partially compliant with the WCAG 2.2 Level AA standard (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines) and the harmonized European standard EN 301 549 V3.2.1, due to the non-compliances and exemptions listed below.
Accessible Features of the Website
- Responsiveness and Zoom: Web content adapts to display resolution and can be zoomed up to 200 – 300% without loss of functionality and without requiring horizontal scrolling (WCAG 1.4.10 Reflow).
- Keyboard Navigation: All primary elements (menus, forms, buttons) are accessible via keyboard (Tab, Enter, Space, arrow keys) and feature a visible focus indicator (WCAG 2.4.7 Focus Visible, WCAG 2.4.13 Focus Appearance).
- Semantic Structure: Pages utilize correct H1 – H4 heading hierarchies and ARIA landmarks (main, nav, header, footer) for screen readers.
- Contrast: Color contrast between text and background meets the minimum ratio of 4.5:1 (or 3:1 for large text) in accordance with WCAG 1.4.3.
Non-Accessible Content
The content listed below is partially non-accessible for the following reasons:
A) Non-Compliance with Act No. 99/2019 Coll. and WCAG 2.2
- Historical PDFs and Technical Documents:
- Certain older documents (annual reports, archived minutes, specialized scientific attachments) uploaded prior to September 23, 2020, lack full semantic tagging for screen readers (missing tags, heading properties, and image alt descriptions) – WCAG Criteria 1.1.1, 1.3.1.
- Alternative Text for Scientific Graphics and Diagrams:
- Some complex chemical formulas, reaction schemes, and research charts in chemical engineering fields lack equivalent textual alternatives in the alt attribute, as visual complexity precludes a concise description – WCAG Criterion 1.1.1.
- Multimedia Content (Videos and Webinars):
- Certain older or embedded videos from excursions and lectures do not include accurate closed captions (CC) or audio descriptions – WCAG Criteria 1.2.2, 1.2.5.
B) Disproportionate Burden (Section 7 of Act No. 99/2019 Coll.)
- Extensive Scientific Research Databases and Archives: Manual conversion of thousands of pages of historical publication outputs and archival graphic/map assets into fully accessible formats (PDF/UA, accessible HTML) would constitute a disproportionate financial and administrative burden. However, ICPF is prepared to provide these materials upon request in an individually adapted format.
Preparation of This Accessibility Statement
- This statement was prepared on October 8, 2026.
- Assessment Methodology: Self-assessment conducted by the website operator and technical supplier, combined with automated audits (Axe Core, Wave) and manual testing using keyboard navigation and screen readers (NVDA, VoiceOver).
