Scientific Information Centre

Responsibilities

The Centre for Scientific Information (SVI) provides comprehensive library, information, and literature search services for researchers, PhD students, and staff of the Institute of Chemical Process Fundamentals of the CAS. It ensures access to national and international scientific information resources, manages the Institute’s library collection, and offers professional support for publishing research outcomes.

Key Responsibilities and Activities:

• Library and Interlibrary Loan Services: Management of the Institute’s library, specialized book collections, and scientific journals; coordination of Interlibrary Loan (ILL) and International Interlibrary Loan (IILL) services.
• Access to Electronic Information Resources (EIR): Administering and providing access to leading scientific databases (e.g., Web of Science, Scopus, ScienceDirect, Wiley, SpringerLink).
• Research Publication Registry (ASEP): Processing, verifying, and entering publication outputs of Institute members into the ASEP repository (Automated System for Execution of Publishing Outputs of the CAS) and preparing data for scientific evaluation.
• Open Access and FAIR Data Support: Advisory services regarding Open Access publishing, research data management, and compliance with grant agency mandates.
• Literature Search and Scientometrics: Conducting custom literature searches in scientific databases and monitoring citation metrics (h‑index, scientometric analysis).
