Responsibilities
The Scientific Secretary is a member of the executive management of the Institute of Chemical Process Fundamentals of the CAS, responsible for coordinating the Institute’s scientific, research, and evaluation agendas. The Scientific Secretary serves as a key liaison between the Institute’s leadership, research departments, the Czech Academy of Sciences, external partners, and funding agencies.
Key Responsibilities and Activities:
- Coordination of Scientific Strategy and Evaluation: Preparation of materials for strategic research management and organization of periodic scientific evaluations (CAS evaluations, M17+ framework).
- Grant and Project Management: Methodological oversight, coordination, and support for the preparation and submission of national and international research projects (GACR, TACR, Horizon Europe, etc.).
- Organization of Scientific Events: Coordination of scientific conferences, seminars, workshops, and lectures hosted by the Institute.
- Publishing Activity and Scientometrics: Monitoring and assessing the Institute’s publication performance, overseeing the publication repository (ASEP), and ensuring adherence to scientific integrity standards.
- International Relations and Research Networks: Supporting international scientific cooperation, coordinating visiting scholars, and facilitating participation in international scientific organizations and consortia.
- Support for Institute Governing Bodies: Preparing documentation and reports for meetings of the Board of the Institute, the Supervisory Board, and the Scientific Advisory Board.
