Surfactants are surface active agents affecting the physical properties of the system. They adsorb to the gas-liquid interface and cause a reduction of surface tension. Bubbles occurring in a liquid with surfactants are more spherical and move more slowly than in pure water. The presentation aims to show how the presence of surfactants in the liquid affects the dynamics of the bubble, its deformation, and also the bubble breakup when it interacts with a vortex. Knowledge of these phenomena will help to understand, describe, and predict complex bubbly flows.
