In the presented thesis the synthesis and study of new binding units and receptors is reported. These substances bear the urea-binding sites into their structure and provide interesting anion-complexation ability. Besides the preparation, the research also includes the determination of the physicochemical properties of the prepared molecules, especially focused on their binding abilities. For this purpose, numerous spectroscopic and electrochemical techniques were applied. A thorough investigation of the properties of binding units provided data that allowed us to understand the behavior of building blocks in the presence of anions, and at the same time to predict the complexation behavior of the final receptors. Those receptors were prepared by the attachment of the binding units to molecular carriers (e.g. carbosilane dendrimers or macrocycles from the calixarene family), or the receptor units were designed to be able to modify electrode surfaces. Finally, the investigation of receptors includes also recycling of these systems, which could be provided by nanofiltration.
