Environmental impacts of the treatment of different components of municipal waste

Municipal waste is very heterogeneous with respect to composition and production. Recently, new types of municipal waste, such as textile waste, have also emerged. The environmental impacts of the treatment of these wastes are not known in detail, both in terms of the different treatment methods and the release of pollutants into the environment along the value chain. The work will be focused on the analysis of these waste streams, the verification of the individual indicators evaluating the treatment procedures, the determination of the environmental impacts and the proposal of methods to improve the current situation.
