In the summer of 2025, I had the honor of attending the 74th Young Scientists’ Meeting with Nobel Laureates in Lindau as one of four delegates from the Czech Republic. The event brought together more than 600 young researchers from all over the world and 33 Nobel Laureates in Chemistry, Physics, and Physiology or Medicine.

In this short talk, I would like to share my strongest impressions and key insights from the meeting — from the in-depth discussion on the role of artificial intelligence in science, through the so-called reproducibility crisis and declining public trust in scientific research, to the authentic honesty of the laureates themselves, who often answered questions about solving current global challenges with a simple “I don’t know.”
