Paper developed by chemists from the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic kills bacteria and viruses, including SARS-CoV-19

If dangerous microorganisms or viruses get on the surface of special paper, they are killed within half an hour. This is made possible by a unique metal complex discovered by scientists from the Institute of Chemical Process Fundamentals of the CAS in cooperation with the industrial sector. The technology is already being used in the production of antibacterial banknotes, and it could also prevent the spread of infection in healthcare facilities.
