Scientists from the National Centre of Competence BIOCIRKL are working on the use of waste herbal biomass, which is created during the production of essential oils, for the production of hydrolates. The hydrolates have a wide range of applications in the cosmetic and medical industries. During the research, it has been confirmed that hydrolates of flowers or medicinal herbs have anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, and antioxidant effects. The aim of this work is to streamline the production process and improve its economic balance by utilizing the waste to obtain a valuable product.
