Determination of spin-spin coupling constants

The NMR laboratory has a long tradition in the development of new NMR experiments for measurement of spin-spin coupling constants. These interactions can directly reflect the distribution of electron density between given nuclei and give information on a bond character and its length or angle. The original orientation towards 13C – 29Si interactions has moved to 13C – 13C interactions, where the coupling determination in symmetrical molecules between equivalent atoms represents the biggest challenge.
