Bažant Postgraduate Conference 2022

The Bažant Postgraduate Conference took place on 13 and 14 June 2022 in the Great Assembly Hall of the ICPF. 22 students from the 1st to 4th year, who completed their doctoral dissertations at the ICPF in cooperation with Czech and foreign universities, presented their papers in English. The best papers were selected by a committee consisting of

Results of the Bažant Postgraduate Conference 2022

First- to Second-year Students

1^st place: Mgr. Lenka Suchánková A seven-years based characterization of aerosol light scattering properties at Central European rural site: Variability and source apportionment

2^nd place: Ing. Karolina Salvadori Multiplication of urea sites – impact on binding phosphates

3^rd place: Ing. Jan Čížek Chiral membrane prepared by electrostatic modification of ion-exchange membrane

4^th place: Ing. Matěj Hušek Removal of PFASs from sewage sludge by pyrolysis 

The committee decided to also award the best presentation for the 1^st year: Mahasoa-Salina Souvenir-Zafindrajaona, MSc. Synthesis of biobased ionic liquids from the choline for lignin derivatization

Third-to Fourth-year Students

1^st place: Ing. Antonín Edr Adaptive synthesis of functional amphiphilic dendrons for drug nanocarrier assembly

2^nd place: Ing. Lenka Michálková NMR-based metabolomic analysis of blood plasma as a pancreatic cancer diagnostic tool

3^rd place: Ing. Simona Lucáková Continuous electrocoagulation of Chlorella vulgaris in a novel channel-flow reactor

4^th place: Ing. Jakub Crha Experimental study of bubble dynamics in aqueous solutions of simple alcohols: CFD validation data

5^th place: Mahdi Bourassi, MSc. Tetracycline degradation using catalysts of platinum coated over CeO₂ and CeO₂ ZrO₂

A new feature this year was the voting of doctoral students for the best presentation. In this “sympathy competition”, the lecture of Antonín Edr received the most votes, making him the overall winner of this year’s event.
