The National Centre of Competence BIOCIRTECH is the predecessor of the existing BIOCIRKL project, which focused on the processing of microbial, plant, animal and waste biomass (including biomass of municipal origin and sewage sludge). Experts from the participating institutions have set themselves the goal of developing new products from renewable sources that will be processed using environmentally friendly technologies and will find application in, for example, the food, agriculture, manufacturing or energy industries. The project has resulted in over 90 outputs, including probiotics for cats and dogs made from chicken waste, pellets for home heating from sewage and paper sludge, special dermocosmetics made from irises and many other useful products and technologies.
