2) National Centre for Energy II (TN02000025), co-investigator is Ing. Michal Šyc, Ph.D. from the Research Group on Waste Management and Sustainable Technologies, the principal recipient is VŠB-TUO, other co-recipients are Veolia Energie ČR, a.s., Vyncke s.r.o., ČEPS, a.s., Center for Research Řež s.r.o., ATEKO a.s., CTU in Prague, ČEZ Distribuce, a. s., ČEZ, a. s., Doosan Škoda Power s.r.o., EG.D, a.s., EGC – EnerGoConsult ČB s.r.o., Energotrans, a.s., HEGAs, s.r.o., ORGREZ, a.s., Pražské služby, a.s., Provyko s.r.o., RMT s.r.o., ROMOTOP spol. s.r.o., SIAD Czech spol. s r.o., SMOLO a.s., TEDOM a.s., ÚJV Řež, a.s., Institute of Thermomechanics of the CAS, v. v. i., GCRI of the CAS, v. v. i., Ventos Energy Solutions, a.s., BUT in Brno, the University of West Bohemia in Pilsen, ZAT a.s., UCT in Prague, MEgA – Měřící Energetické Aparaty, a.s., ČEPRO, a.s., and TMV SS spol. s.r.o.

The aim of the project is to develop a comprehensive strategy ensuring energy self-sufficiency and raw materials independence of the Czech Republic and reducing greenhouse gas emissions through R&D of methods, materials, and technologies for modern, low carbon, and sustainable energy in the non-nuclear energy sector. Part of the strategy is an analysis of the socio-economic impact of the implementation of new scientific knowledge with follow-up recommendations for legislative measures. The aim will be achieved in line with EU strategic documents, in particular, Green Deal and Fit for 55 via the cooperation of top research organizations and innovation leaders, while sharing unique laboratory facilities and the know-how of expert teams through joint projects.
