Aerosol, Clouds and Trace Gases Research Infrastructure Network contribution of the Czech Republic (ACTRIS participation of the CR)

Abstract:

The aim of the ACTRIS-CZ large research infrastructure project is to operate and upgrade the infrastructure for background air quality research in different types of environments, covering health, climate and environmental impacts of changes in atmospheric composition, in order to make it available to users in open access mode. Users will be able to access datasets taken during the research at all four ACTRIS-CZ stations (National Atmospheric Observatory Košetice, Suchdol, Lom and Milešovka Observatory). The facilities of the National Atmospheric Observatory Košetice will be available to carry out campaign measurements using measurement areas on the outdoor ground, in container spaces and in vertical profile on the platforms of the 250 m high tower. In cooperation with technology companies, the development of new measurement equipment will be facilitated by the possibility of testing instruments for extreme environmental conditions (shocks, vibrations, high humidity) and the possibility of calibrating specialised equipment in the premises of the Prague Aerosol Calibration Centre for national and international users will be provided. There will also be a range of training courses, seminars, internships for students, young scientists and the professional public in the field of environmental sciences, as well as professional and educational excursions for secondary and university students and the general public.
